The Father, the Farmer, and the Fixer with unselfish foresight for the future

On March 21, 1965, hundreds of brave foot soldiers, along with notable civil rights leaders, including John Lewis, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Ralph Abernathy, spent the first night on David Hall's Farm. Marking it as Campsite 1 in the Voting Rights March from Selma to Montgomery.

Although Mr. Hall's life was threatened for his brave decision to let the marchers camp on his land, he did not waver. He still allowed the marchers to have rest, shelter, and food to continue on with their 54- mile journey which granted us all to have the right to vote today.

Today, we continue to honor Mr. David Hall for his impactful contribution to the Civil Rights Movement.

A True Unsung Hero.
